En 2021, Marseille accueillait l'European Guitar and Mandolin Young Orchestra pour une semaine de stage dans le cadre du Mandol'In Marseille Festival. Sous la direction de Vincent Beer-Demander, les jeunes mandolinistes et guitaristes venus de toute l'Europe ont préparé un concert d'exception avec la création mondiale du Quasi Concerto Grosso de Léo Brouwer, et des œuvres de Claudio Mandonico, Astor Pizzolla, Dietrich Erdmann, Vincent Beer-Demander, Carlos Blaco Ruiz et Vladimir Cosma. EGMYO is the most important project of EGMA and a forum for young players from all European countries to work on interesting compositions from different composers, styles and nations to show and inform about the wide range of national traditions and the various tendencies of contemporary mandolin music. The invited participants work with excellent international teachers and conductors at high musical level to get an idea about technical standards and artistical quality of orchestra playing with mandolins and guitars.
